Kanye West is easing back into his regular activities after somewhat withdrawing from the spotlight after a series of Twitter tirades. His wife, Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian, has been making an effort to keep her husband out of trouble while helping him tackle his mental health. While things seem to be on the uptick, there’s still a physical threat that plagued his spiritual gathering in Cody, Wyoming: COVID-19.
In the past, Kanye has conducted sermons and spiritual gatherings where he performed gospel music and shared his testimony in his faith. Due to the pandemic and quarantine, these gatherings have been put on hold. Kanye’s outspoken religious beliefs have been the topic of many discussions, most notably involving controversial statements he’s made about Kim’s dress being “too sexy.” The couple even named their new child Psalm, after the biblical text. Kanye most notably spoke at pastor Joel Osteen’s Houston Megachurch. His speech included details on Kanye’s own struggles and how he found God while he admittedly had a mental breakdown.

Despite the pandemic, Kanye’s show apparently must go on. However, Kim jumped in to assure the skeptics that they are taking every precaution to conduct this event, such as filming it without an audience. However, according to People, what is seen from the footage is a large choir performing together on a grassy hilltop. The event took place outside the family’s own Wyoming ranch that spans hundreds of acres. According to Kim, the music will be shared soon for anyone who needs “some uplifting.”
Kim posted about the event on her Instagram, sharing photos and videos of the service, which displayed the choir in all red and the couples’ children. Kanye added to the assurance by Tweeting, “Praise God. We would like to thank our staff for making sure all Covid safety guidelines were followed today during Sunday Service at our West Mountains family ranch in Wyoming.” Despite claims that health guidelines were enforced, the closely packed choir didn’t seem to be wearing masks, nor were they practicing social distancing which leaves fans questioning these claims.
The Sunday service was the family’s first big event since Kim and Kanye returned from their vacation to the Dominican Republic, a trip meant to sort things out with everything going on between Kanye and Kim. Since Kim shared the enthusiasm, fans are left to believe the vacation worked and the couple are now heading in a positive direction with their marriage and Kanye’s mental health concerns.
